James T. Sartain
Chief Executive Officer
James T. Sartain has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 17 years of experience in a variety of management roles in commercial banking. Mr. Sartain served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member of FirstCity Financial Corporation (and it’s predecessor J-Hawk Corporation) from 1988 to 2001, managing and overseeing all aspects of successful investment in both domestic and international operations including distressed debt and private equity investments. In 2001, he became Chief Executive Officer and served as a Board Member of FirstCity Financial Corporation until May 2013.
Mr. Sartain is a graduate of Baylor University, has a certificate from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, and has been a faculty member of the Graduate School of Banking for over 25 years.
CARL J. CHANEY
Mr. Chaney has over 29 years of experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining JTS, Mr. Chaney was President and CEO of Hancock Holding Company (NASDAQ: HBHC) and its subsidiaries Hancock Bank and Whitney Bank. Having spent 17 years with the company, he oversaw the growth in book equity from $0.6 billion to $3.0 billion and total assets from $2.7 billion to $20.7 billion. Prior to being President and CEO he served as CFO of Hancock.
Mr. Chaney is a licensed attorney and before joining Hancock, represented over 100 financial institutions in M&A transactions. Chaney holds a juris doctorate degree and a banking and finance degree from the University of Mississippi. He currently serves on the board of directors of Mississippi Power Company and has just completed his term on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, New Orleans branch.
Jim W. Moore
Executive Vice President
Jim W. Moore has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. Until 1992, Mr. Moore served as President of three different Texas financial institutions as well as a federal bank regulator with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Between 1992 and May 2013, Mr. Moore served in positions including Senior Officer and COO of FirstCity Financial Corporation and affiliates where he was heavily involved in all corporate activities including asset management, servicing, REO, commercial correspondent lending, and operations. He also initiated, managed, and oversaw FirstCity's successful entry into the subprime auto lending business via Drive Financial, now known as Santander Consumer Finance USA.
Mr. Moore has a degree from Baylor University.
J. BRYAN BAKER
Chief Financial Officer
J. Bryan Baker has over 29 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to 1995, Mr. Baker spent two years as bank controller and board member of two Texas financial institutions, four years managing receiverships as a consultant to the Resolution Trust Corporation, and four years in public accounting with a focus on financial institutions. In 1995, Mr. Baker joined FirstCity Financial Corporation as a Senior Officer, then served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2000 to May 2013. During his time with FirstCity Financial, Mr. Baker managed and oversaw FirstCity’s accounting and SEC reporting; was involved in strategic planning and communicating the activities related to the Company to the Board of Directors and Shareholders; guided the implementation and integration of internal controls to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; developed staff domestically and in foreign subsidiaries; served as Treasurer working closely with lenders and other funding partners; and guided the effective implementation of a large enterprise resource planning system for accounting.
Mr. Baker has a degree from Texas A&M University and is licensed as a CPA in Texas.
