James T. Sartain is Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of JTS Capital Group LLC - a company primarily engaged in the purchase and management of distressed debt in the U.S. and Europe.  Prior to JTS, Mr. Sartain was President and CEO of FirstCity Financial Corporation, a publicly traded company on the U.S. NASDAQ stock exchange (also engaged in distressed debt investing).

Mr. Sartain has overseen all aspects of his current and former companies’ investments and operations for over 30 years - purchasing and managing assets in the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia.  He led FirstCity’s successful expansion into national and international markets through building strong relationships with capital and financing partners and investing in a wide variety of asset classes.  He has forged the establishment of the many successful business venture subsidiaries, such as Drive Financial Services, American Business Lending, and FirstCity Crestone.  Mr. Sartain has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. 

Prior to 1988, Mr. Sartain spent 17 years in executive management roles in commercial banking in Texas.
